Afghanistan- 3 ANA soldiers killed, 5 wounded in Ghazni attack


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed and five others wounded as insurgents stormed checkpoints in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor's spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked the ANA check-post in the Nani area of Andar district on Monday night. Two soldiers were killed and four others wounded.

Separately, one soldier was killed and another wounded in a similar incident in the Laram area of Maqor district. Noori added casualties had also been inflicted on militants, but exact figures were not available.

Rahimullah, a resident of Nani area, confirmed the clash continued till morning. Heavy and light weapons were used, said the inhabitant, who was unaware of casualties.

Meanwhile, confirmed the Andar clash. Zabihullah Mujahid, the group's spokesman, said 10 ANA soldiers were killed and the fighters captured weapons and ammunition.
