Al Duhail unstoppable as Msakni and Belmadi sweep top awards

Al Duhail's Tunisian star Youssef Msakni has been adjudged the QNB Stars League's Best Player for the months of November/December.

In a similar accolade for Al Duhail fans to celebrate and cherish, team coach Djamel Belmadi was named ‘Best Coach' for the same period.

Msakni scored five goals from as many matches during the period and played an influential role as Al Duhail ended the tournament's first phase in lead position with 29 points. He gave four assists as well.

The attacking midfielder brought out some exceptional performances and contributed a lot to Al Duhail's four victories and one draw, starting from Week 7 till Week 11.

The high points were the 4-2 win over Al Sadd in Week 9 and 8-2 victory against Al Kharaitiyat in Week 8, the biggest margin in the first phase.

The Red Knights' other wins were against Al Khor (4-2) and Al Markhiya (2-1), while they were held by Al Sailiya 1-1 in the last round.

Msakni, who was named the Player of the Month for September as well, was at times unlucky not to have scored despite creating many chances and taking shots, either goalkeepers thwarting him or his attempts going narrowly wide.

The technical analysis of the player released by Stats, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League, showed he made 48.7 passes, out of which 37.7 were successful.

He spent 480.4 minutes on the pitch, scoring four goals from inside the box and one from outside.

The physical aspects revealed that Msakni covered a total distance of 8,904.3 metres with a very high speed distance of 214.5 and very high speed sprints of 12.6.

Meanwhile, Belmadi's influence at Al Duhail camp is also becomig apparent.

Under the Algerian who is known for his shrewd tactics and astute acumen, Al Duhail played five matches (Weeks 7 to 11) during the period, winning four and drawing one.
