(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 11 December: The National Youth Carnival, which started here at the Peshawar Sports Complex on Saturday, continued in full swing on Monday, the third consecutive day.
The carnival has been organized by the KP Department of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Archaeology and Youth Affairs.
Hundreds of students from more than 100 schools and 11 religious seminaries from KP, Fata, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are participating in thirty different competitions including drama, thematic art, painting, calligraphy, short film, Urdu, English and Pashto singing, cultural dance, music band, Qiraat, Na'at, spelling bee, English and Urdu declamation, Urdu and Pashto essay writing, quiz competition, business plan, ad making, standup comedy, chess and spot photography.
According to the organizers, large number of female students are also participating in the carnival.
The aim of the carnival is to provide opportunities to the students to explore their hidden talent.
Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaiser was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. Speaking at the occasion, Asad Qaiser said that the incumbent provincial government has taken numerous steps for the development of youth.
Terming the carnival the biggest event for the youth, he said the government has been trying to provide maximum opportunities to the youth.
He said that the KP government had announced the first-ever youth policy and it had established 100 playgrounds in the province.
According to officials, the competitions among students of schools and religious seminaries were earlier held on divisional and provincial levels after which, the successful players were selected for the national carnival.
The National Youth Carnival (NYC)-2017, is the biggest event of the youth of Pakistan which is carrying prize money of Rs 5million.
