(MENAFN) A prison break has disrupted an Indonesian jail early Monday involving an American man jailed for drug charges as a manhunt is ongoing.

The convict who was detained in August and identified as 32 year old Christian Beasley was supposedly caught at a Bali post office with a package of 5.7 grams of a drug recognized as hashish in his possessions.

Kerobokan prison chief Tonny Nainggolan reported that the convict made his escape at about 4am when he saw through a ceiling and leaped over a wall 20-foot high at the back of the prison.

It was also confirmed that another American convict identified as 57 year old Paul Anthony Hoffman who was serving a sentence of 20 months in jail for robbery charges tried to flee with Beasley but was recaptured during his escape attempt.
