Catalonia medieval art work to be removed

(MENAFN) In the midst of an ownership rights conflict with neighboring Aragon, Police in Catalonia are taking away medieval art works.

A total of 44 items, preserved in the Catalan Museum of Lleida while initially obtained from Sijena convent, are to be removed during the operation following a legal quarrel with Aragon which started since the 80s.

The culture ministry of Spain issued the order of the operation as a number of people set out a protest outside the museum.
