LG Electronics considers adopting iris scanner for next flagship


(MENAFN) LG Electronics Inc. is likely to take up an iris scanner for its next flagship smartphone, in a move to keep up with latest technology trends.

According to the Netherlands-based LetsGoDigital, the company has filed lately a patent associated with iris-scanner technology to the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Industry watchers believe the smartphone maker is to adopt the feature for its approaching flagship, most likely the LG G7.

Iris scanners are presumed to be a stronger security compared to fingerprints, as big international tech firms have been trying to apply the technology in their mobile phones.
