(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) ISLAMABAD: The federal government is likely to table a bill seeking extension of jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and Peshawar High Court to Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).
According to National Assembly's Agenda, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab would table the bill after resignation of former Law Minister Zahid Hamid.
The bill would be tabled in Senate on Monday that would resume its setting in the evening after passing from NA.
The government, on September 15, had tabled the bill that was later approved by Standing Committee on Law and Justice approved extending jurisdiction of the SC and PHC to Fata. All parliamentary parties except Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam voted in favour of the bill.
