Danube plans sanitary ware factory in Dubai

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Danube Group plans to set up a factory to produce sanitary ware which will be operational next year, said a senior company executive.

Anis Sajan, managing director of Danube Group, said the company would recruit around 100 people for the new factory where it will produce products for its Milano brand.

"We don't depend on single products but a diversified portfolio. We import Milano products from different factories. The factory will be in one of the Dubai free zones, may be Technopark," Sajan said.

"When you have goods produced in the UAE, you are exempted from customs duty. It will help my clients in the Middle East or people who are buying in Africa as they don't have to pay tax," Sajan said on the eve of the 10th anniversary of Milano.

"We will start with sanitary products and then expand the range. The cost will initially be at least $10 million [Dh37 million] and will increase as the facility expands over the years," he said.

The company's sales grew 30 per cent in the first 10 months and Sajan expects another 10 per cent growth in the remaining two months.

"Today, Milano is in the Middle East, India, Africa, China and Europe. I want to see it in Pakistan, America and Canada."
