No international cricket during IPL?
10 Dec 2017

The cricketing order across the globe is all set to change, thanks to the popularity of the cash rich Indian Premier League, the hottest property worldwide.

The International Cricket Council is mulling the proposal of making the months of April and May, during which the T20 tournament is played, a bilateral free window post 2019.

Here is all about the new proposal.

BCCI wants all focus to be on IPL
IPL top priority

During the ICC's two day meet in Singapore, the future tour program was discussed in detail with each member of the parent body. It was in this meet that the BCCI presented a revised FTP.

The BCCI has made efforts to ensure that all the members of the ICC will keep cricketers free of bilateral commitments to ensure their participation in the IPL.

BCCI yet to convince England
ECB plays hard to get

Every member of the ICC has agreed with BCCI's proposal with the exception of England and Wales Cricket Board. English Board is yet to commit to the two month window.

The BCCI, however, remains confident of swaying the ECB into coming on board with their plan. England's concerns remain valid as their home season begins in the month of June.

India's home season to be revamped
Big shake up

In its revised FTP, the BCCI has also ensured that India's home season gets restructured.

Under the revised plan, India will not play an away series between October and November and February and March.

If all goes according to plan, this is likely to come into action from 2019 to 2023. For now, Team India is scheduled to tour England post the IPL 2018.
