AC Milan to Open Football Academy in Laayoune


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Photo Credit: AC Milan Rabat – Italian giant club AC Milan continues to expand its presence in Africa. The club is set to launch a football academy in the Moroccan southern city of .

The project forms part of a partnership agreement signed with the city council over a period of three years, AC Milan revealed on Thursday.

The football academy will provide football lovers in the region with a technical and educational program based on AC Milan's training methods.

The partnership between the city council and the giant club will give young people in the city the opportunity to benefit from the services of the renowned academy, particularly sessions supervised by the technical manager of the Italian club, Fabio Vicardi, reported Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).

The agreement testifies to the efficiency of sports policy carried out in . It will also cover the way for the training and development of the youth capacities through allowing them to meet internationally renowned managers and football trainers.

AC Milan has a network of more than 100 affiliated clubs in Italy as well as several others in foreign countries.

"Each school has the role of Educative Centre that, through football, creates and promotes different sport cultures to all children and adults involved: coaches, directors, and parents," said the club.

The club has been the home of many football stars, including Leonardo Bonucci, Nikola Kalinic, and Lucas Biglia.

The club was also a home for Moroccan footballers who were part of the team, including . , a 19-year old Moroccan footballer, is currently playing for the team.
