EU to provide EUR 5 mln for social and economic development of Danube region in Ukraine


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The European Commission, Ukraine and Hungary have signed an agreement on financing of the Danube Transnational Programme(DTP).

The signing of the agreement took place in the framework of the meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council on Friday in Brussels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The document provides for the granting of funding in the amount of EUR 5 million to Ukraine.

The agreement provides for the implementation of joint cross-border cooperation projects aimed at the social and economic development of the Ukrainian part of the Danube region (Chernivtsi, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions).

The agreements should contribute to the implementation of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine.
