UAE, Angola advance bilateral relations

LUANDA, 7th December, 2017 (WAM) -- President of Angola Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco has hailed his country's relations with the UAE during a meeting in the capital Luanda today with H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region,and his accompanying delegation.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan relayed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the leadership and people of Angola and their wishes for sustained stability and prosperity.

He expressed hope the visit will contribute to advancing the current cooperation ties to a higher level and opening up fresh prospects of collaboration.

The meeting focused on ways of boosting relations in areas of economy, investment, agriculture, energy, and transport to the higher good of both peoples. The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments.

The meeting was attended by UAE Ambassador to Angola Khalid Salem bin Ghleidha, Sultan bin Khalfan Al Romaithi, Under-Secretary of the Ruler's Representative's Court in Al Dhafra and a number of Angolan officials, including the Angolan Ambassador to the UAE Flavio Saraiva de Carvalho Fonseca.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan is on a two-day state visit to Angola at the invitation of the Angolan president.
