Pak Shamaa defeats PIS to win Qatar schools U19 cricket crown

Bismillah and Ahmed Khan guided Pak Shamaa School to a one-sided 46-run victory over Pakistan International School in the final of the Qatar Inter-school Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at the West Bay Grounds.

When PIS were chasing a modest 153-run target in 25 overs, Bismillah struck the rivals very hard and dismissed three players for only nine runs in four overs. Khan also provided commendable support and grabbed four wickets to send them crashing to 106 in 20 overs.

Haleem waged a lone battle to hold the PIS innings together as he hit 41. Saud and Noman got 19 and 14, respectively.

Bismillah was declared the Man of the Final for his outstanding performance, which included a catch as well.

Earlier, Hussain cracked a 38 and he was followed by Ismail, who got 29 runs for Pak Shamaa. Ahmed and Jassim batted well to add 26 each M Khan was the pick of the bowlers for PIS, bagging three scalps.

Shakeel, Saud and Taha snared one wicket apiece.

Khalid Moiz of Dukhan was declared the Player of the Tournament for 137 runs and four wickets. Saud Kamal (PIS) won the Best Batsman award for his 141 runs and two wickets. Ideal Indian School's Ahmad Zaid adjudged the Best Bowler for a haul of 11 wickets. His teammate Pratham Mittal claimed the honours of being the Emerging Player of the Tournament as he hit 119 runs and netted five wicket.
