Kuwait- 100 held in raids in all six governorates within 48 hours


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2 : Officers from the Public Security Sector in their campaign against vice arrested 100 people involved in financial, criminal, drugs and alcohol-related offenses in all six governorates within 48 hours, says Al-Seyassah.

The campaign led by Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security was launched upon directives from the Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah with the guidance of the Undersecretary of Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dousari.

A security source confirmed that all suspects arrested were wanted by law. He said 20 people were apprehended in the Capital governorate with various cases registered against them, while 14 out of 30 people arrested in Farwaniya were involved in alcohol and drug-related offenses.

Also, the officers nabbed 5 people in Jahra in possession of shabu and drug tools, in addition to 4 financial offenders. An Asian expatriate was taken into custody for stealing copper cables belonging to the Ministry of Electricity and Water—alongside 10 others involved in financial and criminal cases in the Capital. In Ahmadi, 22 people were arrested for various offenses, in addition to 5 citizens in possession of illicit drugs and paraphernalia, while 4 people wanted for KD 2000 and KD 5000 financial offenses were apprehended in Mubarak Al-Kabeer. All suspects were referred to concerned authorities.
