The Career Services Center (CSC) in collaboration with the College of Engineering (CENG) at Qatar University (QU) recently hosted a visit by French Ambassador to Qatar Eric Chevallier.
The visit aimed to discuss collaboration opportunities between CENG and French universities and companies, to further strengthen the current relations and to explore new horizons of cooperation in the field of education and research.
Eric Chevallier was welcomed by CENG Dean Dr Khalifa Al Khalifa, Student Development Director Haya Al Attiya, CSC Director Maha Almarri, CENG Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Prof Abdelmagid Hammuda, and CENG Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Eng AlJazzi Fetais.
The Ambassador visited the 'Discover your Career exhibition held by CSC in cooperation with CENG.
Dr Khalifa Al Khalifa said: 'Discussions focused on collaboration opportunities between CENG and French universities and companies to promote academic and research excellence and engage students in various industrial programmes and initiatives to heighten their skills and capacities.
'This aligns with CENG's continuous efforts to foster links with local and international institutions, Dr Khalifa Al Khalifa added.
Eric Chevallier said: 'The French Embassy is fully committed to find new opportunities of collaboration and strengthen existing relations between QU College of Engineering and French partners, to cover scopes of academic exchanges, research programs, students training and any mutual initiatives that could benefit both parties.
'The presence of many French companies at the Career Fair held by CENG demonstrates their willingness to contribute to capacity building and to provide career opportunities for Qatar Univaersity students and graduates, the French Ambassador Eric Chevallier added.
