Oman- Vintage car exhibition held to celebrate 47th National Day


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Directorate General of Transport in Muscat Municipality recently organised a ceremony to mark the 47th National Day of the sultanate. The ceremony included an exhibition of vintage cars at the Oman Avenues Mall in Bausher, stated a press release.

The aim of the exhibition was to shed light on the development of the classic automotive industry and open the market for those interested in old and rare automobile models in the sultanate dating back to 1904. The exhibition was attended by nearly 3,000 people from various governorates and a number of tourists interested in vintage cars.

The Directorate General of Transport also organised a ceremony under the patronage of H E Ahmed bin Hilal al Busaidi, Wali of Muttrah, in the presence of Dr Khaled bin Ali al Balushi, director general of the Directorate General of Transport and some staff and associates. The ceremony included recitation of poems and national songs displaying the spirit of loyalty and gratitude to Oman and its leader.

There were also activities involving schoolchildren. The municipality in all its directorates organised several celebrations to express the joy of 47th National Day. It also organised a competition aimed to involve the community so that they can express their joy on the occasion.
