UAE- Egyptian club mourns Rawda mosque martyrs


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Egyptian club in Dubai on Sunday evening mourned the sad demise of over 305 people martyred in the terrorist attack that targeted the Al Rawda mosque, North Areesh, Sina.

Dr Sharif Abdullah Sharif, a legal arbitrator with the Dubai Courts, in a strong-worded speech, condemned the heinous attack talked about the high ranking position of the martyrs and deemed punishment of their assailants. "The attackers can never ever be representatives of any religion or reflect any sound logic or straight ideology. The insane terrorists have targeted the innocent worshippers first in the churches and now at the mosques. They wanted to divide the Egyptians, but they get closer to each other."

Dr Sharif said that Muslims all over the country prayed the funeral prayers for the slain martyrs. "All churches have sounded their bells to mourn the sad demise of the 'biggest ever number of terrorism victims in an attack' in the history of Egypt."

Eminent Quran reader Sheikh Saad Omar recited some verse from the Holy Quran in which Almighty Allah promised great rewards to the martyrs. The condolence session saw crowds of people from all nationalities, positions and ages who were so keen to share the moment.

Dr Ahmed Abuegaila, chairman of the Egyptian Club, told Khaleej Times that they were so sorry for the tragic attack that killed hundreds of innocent worshippers. "We wish to share the grief and sorrow of the entire Egyptian people, mourn the martyrs, show our unity in the face of terrorism, and affirm our support to their families."
