Shami, Bhuvi and Umesh, the men to watch out for
23 Nov 2017

Ever since the retirement of Zaheer Khan, India have lacked a quality pace attack.

However, after watching Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav in action during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Kolkata, we can say India have quality in our ranks and there's plenty to look forward to in the coming months.

Let us know more about India's impressive pace trio.

Pace trio show glimpses of their prowess
Top class

Bowling tracks in India traditionally assist spinners but in Kolkata the pace trio took centre-stage.

Bhuvi spearheaded the attack and brought India close to a victory, only to let bad light bail the Lankans out.

For the first time, Indian pacers claimed all 17 wickets and the spinners were left wicket less. This display will definitely boost their confidence.

Bhuvi, Shami show the way ahead for Indian cricket
Fantastic three

Bhuvi and Shami made sure the batsmen could not relax on the crease. They were going for the win.

With just 26 overs bowled Sri Lanka were hanging by a thread at 75/7.

No Indian pace attack in recent history bowled with such aggression and venom. Even Umesh's pace was causing problems, but he could do a lot to improve.

Trio can be lethal overseas
Watch out Proteas

India's pace battery can be match winners, especially overseas. Bhuvneshwar Kumar's swing can cause enough problems.

While Umesh Yadav's raw pace and bounce can be key to India's hopes especially outside the subcontinent.

India's trump card will definitely be Mohammed Shami, who can swing the ball both ways while consistently clocking speeds of 140 kmph.

Kohli and company planning ahead
Dress rehearsal

India's long home season is coming to an end and the team will be on the road over the next two years, with most matches being played outside the subcontinent.

India are looking ahead to the overseas tours. Pitches in Nagpur and Delhi too are expected to be pace friendly to prepare Kohli & Co. for the upcoming tour of South Africa in January.
