Pakistan- DI Khan Stripping case: PHC directs police to submit progress report at Human Rights Cell


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday directed the police to submit fortnightly before the Human Rights Cell about the progress in case of a 16-year old girl who was paraded naked in DI Khan's Matt area.

A division bench comprised of Chief Justice PHC Yahya Afridi and Justice Syed Afsar Shah was hearing a writ petition filed by mother of victim girl who was paraded naked in DI Khan.

Advocate General Abdul Latif Afridi and police officials appeared and submitted progress report before the bench. The police informed the bench that nine suspects have so far been arrested and teams were constituted to arrest the main culprit identified as Sajawal.

The police said that the police were also interrogating Rahmat who allegedly recorded a video of the girl, adding that a team has been sent to Karachi for arrest of the main culprit.

The police said that proper security has been provided the to victim's family after which the bench disposed off the petition with directions to the police to submit fortnightly report before the Human Rights Cell.
