Mnangagwa to take power as Zimbabwe new President


(MENAFN) According to the state broadcaster, ex-vice-president of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa is scheduled to become the successor of Robert Mugabe on Friday after his return from South Africa on Wednesday.

Mnangagwa's sacking as the Vice President has been followed by a chain of events that resulted in Mugabe's 37 years of power to be brought into an end.

The announcement of the end of Mugabe-era had been a cause for intense celebration across the country.
