Katara awarded Medal of Excellence


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Katara the Cultural Village was awarded the ‘Medal of Excellence' for its unceasing efforts and fruitful co-operation in hosting a ‘Documentary Exhibition for Scientific Excellence Day,' last February.
Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti received the awards from the chairman of Qatar's National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, Dr Hamda Hassan al-Sulaiti, who is also the executive chairman of the Scientific Excellence Award, during their meeting recently. Dr Hamda al-Sulaiti praised the role of the award as it aims to raise the spirit of competition and challenge among participants to bring out their talents, skills and innovative ideas in various fields. She pointed out that Katara harnesses all its energies and facilities to serve innovation and excellence, carefully implemented to raise cultural awareness and promote culture in all its forms, 'as well as forming a cultural communication bridge to link people from all walks of life.
'We aspire to further co-operate with Katara to achieve mutual benefits, Dr Hamda said, as she praised Katara's efforts in hosting the exhibition, which was organised on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the scientific excellence award.
Dr Hamda also thanked Katara for its interest and keenness on hosting various activities and events that enrich the Qatari cultural scene and encourage greater creativity.
