Seven hours later, the 54-year-old male occupant of a house in Fong Ma Po Village, also in Tai Po, reported to police that a search of the residence at 6am had determined that two watches worth HK$65,000 each, jewelry worth around HK$110,000 and a wallet with HK$2,000 cash in it were missing.

After an initial investigation, police believed that the burglars had climbed a water pipe and pried open the bathroom window to get into the house.
