The State of Qatar has won a new scientific achievement, the team's competition prize at 11th International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics, which was launched in the Kingdom of Thailand on November 11 and continues until November 22.
Qatar has participated as the first Arab country in this competition last year in its tenth edition held in India. The current participation in Thailand is the second in a row with a delegation of students under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and supported by Qatar Institute for Environmental and Energy Research, (Hamad Bin Khalifa University).
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education considered this achievement as an addition to the achievements of Qatar students in various regional and international competitions in various sciences, reflecting the quality of education in the country, and Qatar's record in terms of interest in education.
The Ministry said that this international achievement is also an indicator of the improvement of the outputs of education in scientific materials such as astronomy and physics, while demonstrating the potential of Qatari students and their teachers, as well as the fruitful cooperation between the family and the school as the educational process is a partnership between these two parties, with the support of the state and civil society institutions.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education congratulated the student delegation and supervisors on this achievement, and said that it will honour them in the future in the framework of a policy pursued annually in this regard for students winning external competitions.
