A criminal case was filed in connection with an explosion in a plant in Lokbatan settlement of Baku's Garadagh District, the Baku city prosecutor's office told Trend Nov. 20.
According to the Crisis Management Center of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations, 53-year-old Bakhman Mammadov was transporting scrap metal to the plant by his truck. A device of unknown origin exploded in Mammadov's hands in the territory of the plant belonging to Elit Yatirim LTD, located in Lokbatan settlement, Baku's Garadagh district. As a result, Mammadov died.
An operative-investigative group consisting of representatives of the Garadagh District Prosecutor's Office and Police Department, representatives of the Forensic Department of the Investigation Department of the Baku City Prosecutor's Office, a special mobile operating group of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), representatives of the Emergency Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were working on the scene and carrying out procedural actions.
The Garadagh District Prosecutor's Office filed a criminal case upon articles 162.2 (violation of the rules of labor protection, which resulted in the death of a person) and 224 (violation of the rules for storage, transportation and use of explosive, flammable substances and pyrotechnic products).
