Oman- Second Nautilus swimming meet on November 18 to mark 47th National Day

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Spurred by the remarkable success of its inaugural swimming meet held in March this year in Muscat, Nautilus Swimming Club has announced that the second Nautilus swimming meet will be held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on November 18.

The second swimming meet will also mark the 47th National Day and 380 swimmers are expected to take part from Oman and Bahrain.

The first edition saw nearly 300 swimmers from all the elite swimming clubs and schools of Oman, including the national swimming team, take part.

It is a clear reflection of Oman's growing stature regionally in the swimming arena that the meet has gone international in only its second edition with the Bahrain Elite Swimming Team announcing its participation this time.

The Nautilus Swimming Club continues to raise the bar for swimmers in Oman under the watchful eyes of its head coach Ivan Proskura, who has mentored several elite European swimmers.

Under coach Proskura's guidance the Nautilus swimmers have won several medals in competitions both within Oman and abroad.

The second edition will feature over ten teams including the national team, teams of ABA, BSM, Al Batinah International School Royal Flight School, and The Sultan's School apart from a team from Bahrain.

The meet will be officiated by the Oman Swimming Association (OSA) referees.
