TPP trade deal talks proceed

(MENAFN) After the US withdrawal, members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership have approved a new plan to renew the suggested trade deal.

Meeting on the sidelines of the Apec summit in Vietnam, the rest of the 11 nations sent a joint statement saying they were dedicated to free and open trade, while Canada was accused of stalling.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Canada would not be rushed into a new TPP agreement.

Canada's delegation said labor and environmental rights would be vital supporters of a new deal, but a lot of work has to be done.
