The inspectors of Health Monitoring Unit at Al Rayan Municipality caught 189 violations at food outlets last month.
The action was taken as per the law for regulating foods. A total of 1,033 inspection visits were made last month. Three surprise and joint inspection drivers were also launched to ensure the food outlets were complying to the law.
The inspectors destroyed 37 complete sheep after they were found unfit for human consumption. In 22 cases of violations, the erring outlets approached for reconciliation. The Municipality collected QR165,500 fines in September.
