Australia: a diver hunted down by a shark

(MENAFN) In Western Australia on Friday, the 34yo John Craig had been practicing his activity of spear-fishing underwater, however, the moment he resurfaced his boat was nowhere to be found. The English diver had to swim 4.5 miles in order to escape from a shark that was pursuing him.

When Mr. Craig has taken notice of the shark, he begun splashing water calling for help, as he saw that no one was on sight he started heading toward the shore, swimming for his life for 30 minutes until he was spotted.

As the shark swam around Mr. Craig, he put his spear gun between the shark and himself in Shark Bay. Afterwards, he determined to head towards the Francis Perron National Park when he saw a red cliff that was very low on the horizon.

The survivor informed the BBC of his experience saying "It was extremely close and curious and kept approaching me from different angles. It was trying to work out what I was and whether I could be on the menu". He then added "It was terrifying. I thought I was just going to be eaten out here in the middle of nowhere... this shark is just not leaving me alone."
