(MENAFN)Marc Marquez has expanded his world championship lead with an impressive victory in the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island on Sunday.
Marquez won the race by 1.799 seconds after fighting off a group of riders including Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales and clearing them out.
Marquez's lead was extended through this victory on the world positions to 33 points over Andrea Dovizioso with two races lasting in Spain and Malaysia Spain.
It was his 35th MotoGP win from 88 starts after he reached his 44th premier class pole on Saturday.
