Nissan: Japanese production is off due to check up concerns

(MENAFN) The car company's shares dropped 2% after it put off domestic production for two weeks due to concerns with its inspection procedures.

In the beginning of October, the company took back 1.2m cars after uncertified inspectors examined its domestic models.

Japanese Transport Minister said it was unclear how long the mischief had been going on for.

CEO of Nissan said the firm's methods for certifying vehicle inspection team didn't change for 20 years.

As the certification process for final inspection doesn't apply to vehicles shipped abroad, Nissan will continue making cars for shipping.
