Qatar- PHCC attends international competition

Representatives from the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) recently competed with international healthcare practitioners at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP ) Dragons Den competition held in Liverpool.
RCGP , the annual primary care conference and exhibition is a prominent event that brings together general practitioners, as well as an impressive lineup of international speakers to showcase the latest clinical and policy developments in primary care.
This year a delegation led by Dr Mariam Abdul Malik, managing director of the PHCC attended the annual conference from Qatar. While the team took part in the Dragons Den competition, included Dr Zelaikha AlWahedi, executive director for workforce development and training, Dr Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla, executive director of operation department and Dr Wafa Al Yousef. PHCC submitted proposals around Improving Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD )Risk Documentation and Consequent Management among Diabetic Patients and Improving physician's adherence to completing vaccination schedules for patients with type 2 diabetes.
The international competition was designed to enhance the effectiveness of primary care, develop knowledge of best practice and make a difference internationally. Qatari delegates competed against their colleagues to win the prize for best idea, by pitching ideas to RCGP ‘Dragons' chaired by Dr Terry Kemple, RCGP president.
