(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs on Monday.
The MoC was signed to issue environmental permits electronically through the Invest Easy portal.
With this agreement, the investor will be able to acquire the commercial and industrial permits that require environmental approvals electronically through a single window (www.investeasy.gov.com). The service is available from Monday.
This service will enable issuance of environmental permits for 800 activities. The investors will also be able to know the requirements for obtaining the commercial permits by visiting the website. The period of issuing these permits ranges from 30min for medium environment affecting projects, and 30 days for large environment affecting projects.
The MoC aims to maintain a sustainable environment and strengthen ties with the governmental sectors that have tied up for the Invest easy system.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry by H E Eng Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Undersecretary. While on behalf of Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, Undersecretary H E Najeeb bin Ali al Rawas signed the agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of officials from both sides.
