Qatar- Emir directs aid plane to Somalia

In line with the directives of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a C-17 plane belonging to Emiri Air Force at the Ministry of Defence departed to Mogadishu International Airport in the Federal Republic of Somalia, carrying medical equipment and first aid to help the injured following the terrorist explosions that recently took place in the Somali capital Mogadishu, killing and injuring hundreds.
The aids are accompanied by Qatar International Search and Rescue Group and a comprehensive medical team from the Qatar Armed Forces and Hamad Medical Corporation. The medical team with the latest equipment will participate in the treatment of the wounded and evacuate them through an air bridge to receive treatment outside Somalia, where the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs will handle the coordination of receiving them and providing them with medical services from accredited hospitals.
The standing committee for rescue and relief operations and humanitarian aids for areas afflicted by catastrophes in in brotherly and friendly countries headed by Lekhwiya took mission of its preparation and coordination with the concerned authorities to ensure the delivery of aid assistance to Somalia.
