Mexican Previous State Ruler on Trial


(MENAFN) After being accused with charges not limited to engaging in organized crime and handling treasury of illegal source, The previous state ruler from Mexico's ruling party will stand before court after a judge examine the provided evidence and approve of the case.

Throughout his six-year term in service, Javier Duarte, who was the ruler of the state of Veracruz on behalf of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, during President Enrique Pena era, has been accused of drawing off millions of dollars.

From Guatemala, Duarte was welcomed to Mexico where he was apprehended in April. However; on Monday, he has denied all accusations against him which lead few doubts to arise about the strength of the case.
