UAE market doesn't need third telecom operator


(MENAFN) CEO of Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company, DU, Osman Sultan said that UAE market doesn't need a third telecom operator, as the company is investing nearly Dh2 billion a year on network and infrastructure developments and upgrades.

During an interview, Sultan said "The UAE market doesn't need a third telecom operator", revealing that du serves 9 million active mobile subscribers.

"The UAE market doesn't need a third telecom operator for the time being as competitiveness in the market is promising for greater prosperity in the telecom services in future," he said.

DU's accumulative investment in the UAE is estimated at Dh20 billion since it was founded 10 years ago, according to him.
