David Nicholas clinched win in category A at the first stage of Air Maroc League, organised by Qatar Cycling & Triathlon Federation (QCTF) last weekend at Losail Technical Zone.
Individual Time Trial was the first race of the series of 10 sponsored by Royal Air Maroc. A total of 117 riders participated in the competition of 18.9 kms, which kicked off at 7am.
One lap distance was 9.45 km, every rider was supposed to finish two laps in Indiviaual Time Trial race.
The race had three categories for men (A, B and C) and two for women (A and B).
Nicholas finished with a time of 27:25.2 and secured the first place with gold medal and trophy.
Whereas, Jonathan Parker from Team Bottrill HSS Hire, took second place with silver medal. Tom Whateley from Velostar finished at third position.
Jaco Anderson finished in 30:52.3 and won gold medal, Andrew Tangonan from Pinoy Roadies Qatar took second position and silver medal whereas, Mashel Al Naimi was third with bronze medal in the category B.
Saleh Al Muhannadi from Losail Team clinched the first position and finished at 31:48.4, Ronald Balorio from PCCQ was second and Zaid Hamza from Qatar national junior team was third and finished with a time of 32:24.9 in the third category (C).
In women category A, Julie Melville from #AndyBrownProRacing won gold medal and finished with a time of 32:24.5.
Isora Sosa Caballero from TriClub Doha took second place and Jennifer Gibbons from #AndyBrownProRacing grabbed third position.
Kathrine Gomez from TriClub Doha finished in 37:03.6 and won gold medal while Carmel Lord representing #AndyBrownProRacing took second position and silver medal. Helena Corby was third with bronze medal in the women category B.
