Oman takes part in WHO conference Dr Yasmin wins award, scholarship


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al Sa'eedi, Minister of Health, led Oman's delegation to the 64th Session of the Regional Committee for Eastern Mediterranean Region of World Health Organization (WHO) in Pakistan.

The conference was held from October 9 to 12 in Islamabad.

The plenary session was inaugurated by Mamnoon Hussain, President of Pakistan, stated a press release.

Representatives of 22 countries in WHO's Eastern Mediterranean Region, including national, regional and international organisations took part in the event.

On the sidelines of the event, H E Dr Sa'eedi also met Saira Afzal Tarar, Minister for National Health Services Regulation and Coordination in Pakistan and also called on the director general of WHO.

The Ambassador of Pakistan in Muscat H E Ali Javed congratulated Oman for the achievement of Dr Yasmin bint Ahmed bin Jaafar, adviser to DG of Primary Health Care, who was awarded 'Dr Ali Tawfiq Shousha Foundation Award and Scholarship during the conference.

H E Dr Sa'eedi was exclusively interviewed by Pakistan Television (PTV). He praised the bilateral bonds of affinity and kinship terming them as 'historical in all aspects'.
