Kuwait offers USD 33,000 in school aid to Jordan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Sept 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has provided a Jordanian state university with financial aid worth USD 33,000 meant to prop up the Hashemite Kingdom's education sector.

After handing Hashemite University president (HU) Dr. Kamaleldin Hani the monetary sum, given by Kuwait's Zakat House, Kuwait's ambassador to Amman Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij told KUNA on Tuesday that the aid aims to support students in obtaining a college education.

The Kuwaiti envoy noted that his country supports all activities and endeavors that allow the youth an opportunity to excel.

Meanwhile, the Jordanian professor said that the "gracious" pecuniary aid given will be earmarked for school supplies to be used by more than 80 students.

He also thanked Kuwait for the support, saying it represents a "valuable opportunity for students." (end) mjb.nam
