Oman- Embassy holds classical music concert as part of India @70


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Embassy of India, Muscat, in continuation of celebration of 70 years of Independence of India, organised, at its premises on September 23, an evening of 'Indian Classical Music.'

The event was held in association with Al Omaniya Financial Services, Oman's largest non-banking financial institution, which is celebrating its 20 years of operations in Oman.

A four-member music troupe from Academy of Music Belgavi, consisting of renowned singers Prabhakar Shahapurkar, Sarang, Angad Desai and Dr Sudhanshu Kulkarni presented an array of classical, semi-classical, instrumental and vocal music in Hindi, Kannada and Marathi.

The event was attended by around 300 persons including dignitaries from Oman, members of diplomatic corps and members of Indian community.

Celebrating 'India @70', Indian Embassy has been organising a series of events in Oman since August 2017 and will continue to do so throughout the year, ending August 2018.

Oman has already witnessed performances of Kathak dance and Rajasthani folk dance during August 2017.

In coming months, the embassy will organise more dance performances, musical performances, a theatre festival, a quiz competition, a painting exhibition, a painting competition, an essay competition, a seminar, etc. Indian Social Club and Indian schools have also organised various events.
