Afghanistan- Five Daesh terrorists killed in Nangarhar


(MENAFN- Afghanistan Times) AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Five people loyal to the Daesh terrorist group were killed when a US drone targeted their vehicle in eastern Nangarhar province in which at least five insurgents were killed, Police officials said.

Provincial police chief said in a statement that the airstrike was conducted on Sunday in the vicinity of Haska Mina district.

Several weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials loaded on the vehicle were also destroyed, the statement added

On the other hand, the Taliban militants launched a coordinated attack against the security posts in Hesarak district.

The Taliban's offensive was strongly and timely retaliated by the security forces which resulted in killing of at least two militants.

According to the local security officials there were a zero number of casualties on the part of civilians and security forces during the airstrike and clashes.

The US and Afghan forces conduct airstrikes and ground operations almost on daily basis in a bid to eradicate the terrorist safe havens and prevent them from expanding their foothold in the country.
