(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised a reception to celebrate its National Day, at Grand Hyatt Muscat last week.
The programme began with the national anthems of Oman and Nepal, stated a press release. Welcoming the invited guests, H E Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Nepalese Ambassador to the sultanate, highlighted the salient features of the constitution of Nepal such as federalism, inclusive administration, gender equality, multi-party democracy, independence of judiciary, rule of law, democracy and development.
While speaking about Nepal-Oman relations, H E Sarmila expressed her confidence that in the days ahead bilateral relations will grow stronger to the mutual satisfaction of both the countries and people.
The ambassador extended her best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for his personal health, happiness and well-being as well as continued peace and prosperity to the people of the sultanate.
She urged all guests to visit Nepal. After the speech, Guest of Honour H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism, and H E Sarmila jointly cut the ceremonial cake.
The embassy also utilised the occasion to promote Nepal's tourism and culture by displaying large-framed photographs of main tourist destinations, mountains, Nepali handicrafts in the hotel hall-way. A video of Nepal's main tourist attractions and products was played on the screen inside the programme hall throughout the programme.
Around 200 guests including a number of State Council and Shura Council members, undersecretaries, ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps in Muscat, business persons, friends and well-wishers of Nepal from various sectors, media representatives and Nepalese nationals attended the reception.
