Dr. A. Shekhar Pandey, B.Sc (CL), MD, FRCPC, ABIM, CBNC, B.Sc (CL), MD, FRCPC ABIM, CBNC, is a senior Cardiologist with an extensive expertise in all facets of cardiology of adult Invasive, Non-invasive and Preventive cardiology. He serves patients from across the Waterloo Wellington LHINN and southern Ontario at the Cambridge Cardiac Care Centre in Cambridge, Ontario in Canada, and is on staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and performs angiography at St. Mary's General Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario.
Dr. A. Shekhar Pandey attended the University of Toronto Medical School in Ontario, where he gained his Medical Degree in 1991, having previously gained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada. He did his fellowship in Internal Medicine, cardiology, Nuclear cardiology and congestive heart failure and Cardiovascular Research all at the University of Toronto. Dr. Pandey is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Pandey is renowned across Canada as an expert in the rapid assessment and management of high risk CAD, CHF and atrial fibrillation patients. He is also a noted researcher in Diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and cardiac rehabilitation including the effects of exercise, diet, stress management and yoga in the prevention and reversal of heart disease. Alongside his practice, he also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario, and is a member of the University of Waterloo Human Research Ethics Board. He is an executive of the Ontario Association of Cardiologists. He is the founder of the Prevent Clinic whose aim is to encourage risk factor modification and lifestyle improvement for cardiac disease prevention. He has served on the board of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. When he is not working, Dr. Pandey enjoys spending quality time with his three sons and his lovely wife, Michelle.
