QFA signs MoUs on South America trip


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani, president of the Qatar Football Association signed a cooperation agreement with the head of the Confederation of South American Nations, Alejandro Dominguez, and Robert Harrison, president of Paraguay Football Federation.
The cooperation agreement includes the exchange of experiences between the two countries and Paraguay.
The QFA president had an official meeting with Dominguez at the headquarters of the Union. The two sides discussed ways to promote and develop football around the world.
The QFA president also had a meeting with Victor Pishi, Minister of Youth and Sports of Paraguay.
The two countries, officials said, are looking forward to deepen the sports cooperation in various fields.

Qatar juniorsconclude Thailand camp with win
Qatar beat Thailand 3-0 to conclude a fruitful training camp in Bangkok.
The goals were scored by Youssef Abdul Razzaq, Khaled Waleed and Hashim Ali. In the opening friendly, Qatar U-19 side beat Thailand 2-0.
The Qatar squad were in Thailand as part of the preparations for the AFC U-19 Championship to be held in Doha from November 4 to 8.
Qatar have been grouped with Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan. Al Annabi are due to return to Doha on Friday. The squad will continue training for the qualifiers before flying off for a training camp in Turkey from August 22 to 28. The training camp in Turkey will also include a couple of friendlies.
At the Doha event, Qatar will play against Lebanon on August 4 followed by a clash again Afghanistan on November 6. Qatar face Iraq on November 8.

QSL preseasonfriendly roundup
A number of QSL Sides have taken part in friendly matches as preparation ahead of the new season. Here we have rounded up some of the games which took place over the past week.

Al Rayyan vs PEC Zwolle 3-1
The Lions secured a victory against Dutch side PEC Zwolle during their preseason camp in Holland. Star signing, Abdelrezzak Hamdallah scored a brace while Rodrigo Tabata added another from the spot to end the game 3-1 for Michael Laudrup's men.
The team is expected to return to Doha on the 15th of August ahead of the start of the 2017/2018 QSL season.

Al Arabi vs ZTE FC 1-4
The Dream team suffered a 4-1 defeat in their friendly against Hungarian side ZTE FC. The match took place in Slovenia during Al Arabi's preseason training camp. New signing Khalfan Ibrahim scored the only goal for Kais Yaqoubi's men from the penalty spot.

Al Ahli vs OSS FC 1-2
Joaquin Caparros's men endured a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of Dutch outfit FC OSS in a friendly encounter last Tuesday. The match took place at the VV Herpinia Stadium in the city of Herpen, Netherlands during Al Ahli's preseason training camp.

Al Gharafa vs CanakkaleDardanel 1-3
The Cheetah's lost their friendly game to Turkish side Canakkale Dardanel by 3 goals to 1. Luis Jimenez scored the only goal for Al Gharafa in their first friendly match during their preseason training camp in Turkey.

Umm Salal vs Al Markhiya 3-2
QSL sides Umm Salal and Al Markhiya played out a 5-goal friendly match which ended in favour of the Orange Fortress 3-2. Ivorian striker Yannick Sagbo and Syrian forward Mahmoud Mawas were amongst the scorers.
Umm Salal are now in Holland for their preseason camp and are expected to return to Doha on the 27th of August.

Qatar SC vs Al Shamal 5-1
Newly promoted QSL side Qatar SC defeated second vision outfit Al Shamal by 5 goals to 1 in a friendly match before the Kings headed to Slovenia for their preseason training camp. New signing Bruno Galo got his name on the score sheet as well with a goal from the spot last Monday evening.
