Cholera affects 400,000 people in Yemen

(MENAFN) Data launched by World Health Organisation showed that Yemen's cholera outbreak is estimated to reach 400,000 injuries on Tuesday, marking a decline compared with the previous months.

Furthermore, World Health Organisation stated a huge decline has occurred in the preceding month on the number of people killed due to the illness everyday.

"We are confronted with the vicious circle where war destroys (the) water distribution system, water is not available or contaminated and people are infecting themselves," ICRC President Peter Maurer announced.

According to the official, "To cope with the crisis we need a fundamental change in attitude and behaviour of the belligerents."
