Oman's DGC to start power generation at 445MW by 2018


(MENAFN) A new natural gas-fired power project, which is owned by the Dhofar Generation Co., will start power generation from 445MW capacity plant by the coming year.

Moreover, a group of Japan's Mitsui & Co, Saudi Arabia"s ACWA Power and Dhofar Intl Development had own a deal to build USD630mn power plant in Raysut in 2015.

Meanwhile, the consortium has obtained Dhofar Generating Co., which owns and operates a recent 273MW gas-fired power plant at the site.

Additionally, elect demand in the region is projected to increase by 7 percent per annum for the coming seven years, from 348MW in 2016 to 559MW in 2023.
