ADEN, 20th July, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent Authority, ERC, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, discussed the humanitarian conditions of refugees in Yemen from countries in the Horn of Africa, and their means of mutual co-operation and co-ordination to provide humanitarian aid to various Yemeni governorates, especially for those arriving from the coastal areas of Yemen.

This occurred during a reception by Eng. Mohammed Al Ketbi, Director of the ERC in Aden, for Jacqueline Parlevliet, Director of the UNHCR, in his office today. Al Ketbi stressed that the ERC strives to co-operate with various international organisations to benefit humanity, especially refugees.

Parlevliet praised the humanitarian efforts of the ERC to help the Yemeni people, who have experienced war and displacement for the past two years in all parts of their country. She also valued the ERC's humanitarian role during recent months, to support refugees and help them return to their homes.
