(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – The National Office of Railways (ONCF) has announced the implementation of a "Special Eid" transport plan, lasting until June 27, to aid the frequent flow of passengers during the three days of celebration of Eid Al Fitr, in order to ensure the best conditions of comfort and safety of travelers.
The "Special Eid" plan consists of increasing the number of trains on the main railway lines, namely Casablanca-Rabat-Fez-Marrakech-Tangier-Oujda, Nador and Khouribga.
As part of the plan, there will be a reinforcement of the teams responsible for the reception and orientation of passengers in railway stations and on board trains, and a diversification of sales channels to facilitate the purchase of tickets, according to a statement from the ONCF.
The plan will facilitate the purchase of tickets and avoidance of queues by strengthening of ticket counters, introducing ATMs, and allowing the purchasing of tickets online from ONCF's website.
The ONCF also plans to provide enhanced assistance in its train stations and on-board trains through reception, information and assistance for passengers, access to platforms and trains, an information service on the ONCF and ONCF Voyages websites and through the company's social networks.
In addition, railway police forces will be strengthened to ensure the maintenance of order and the safety of passengers both at stations and on trains.
The ONCF has also reduced ticket prices for families, young people, elders and students, added the statement.
In order to avoid possible congestion during this period, the ONCF invites users to travel in an organized way by informing themselves in advance about the schedules of the requested lines and obtaining the tickets in advance.
