(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) SHARANA (Pajhwok): More than 6,000 acres of land has been reclaimed from its illegal occupants in southeastern Paktika province, the Land Disputes Settlement Commission said on Monday.
The commission head, Mohammad Rasool Adil, told a news conference here that the commission€™s members had recovered more than 6,000 acres of land in Mata Khan District alone.
He said Andar and Saleh tribes had long been in a dispute over the public land and they had been able to resolve the dispute during one year and reclaim the government€™s land.
According to him, the commission had also settled many tribal and family disputes in villages and rural areas of the province.
Meanwhile, Paktika land department head, Mohammad Hashim Alikhel, said a campaign aimed at recovering government€™s land was underway in the province.
He said since the campaign€™s launch about 180 acres of land had been so far reclaimed from usurpers in capital Sharana and districts of the province.
Land Disputes Settlement Commission of Paktika is constituted of members from the provincial administration, the attorney€™s office, judicial department, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) and civil societies.
