Tech startups from GCC to benefit from USD30mn seed fund


(MENAFN) Tech entrepreneurs and startups in the GCC nations will benefit from 500 Falcons, an USD30mn Mena seed fund from U.S.-based venture capital firm 500 startups and Qatar Foundation Research& Dev.

Accordingly, the market size is USD30mn and that should permit them to invest in almost 150 to 200 early-stage startups on the Mena region in the coming three to four years.

The firm already had a first closing at USD15mn already and it's having a second closing quite soon with a further USD7mn.

Moreover, 500 Startups forged a partnership with QF R&D and Qatar Science and Tech Park to increase a range of 500 Startups programs.
