Tunisia's public health sector suffers to heal itself


(MENAFN) Tunisian public health sector is struggling to heal its many maladies, while they have to cope with the misery of these places, the dirt, and the behavior of the staff.

Meanwhile, improving the health sector has been a key priority for Tunisian governments since the nations gained independence from France in 1956.

Recently, the North African nation's 11mn people are served by some 166 hospitals and 2.100 health centers.

On the other hand, public health services deteriorated since 1990s and are failing to meet modern demand, as exposed a report by the health section of the powerful UGTT union.
